Here are some answers to commonly asked questions about the SnowSport Snowplow HD.

How hard is it to assemble and install the SnowSport HD?  It’s really simple!!.  All you need is some simple hand tools and about 15-30 minutes.  Please check out the Snowsport plow installation video for complete details.  (if you are also installing a front hitch, plan an extra 30 minutes or so depending on the pickup or suv you have).

Can I install the SnowSport Snowplow myself? YES, the instructions are very easy to understand and follow.   SnowSport plow customers overwhelmingly say “it’s simple and easy to install”.  Note: the installation of the front hitch varies from vehicle to vehicle.

How does the SnowSport Install to a pickup truck or sport utility vehicle?  The SnowSport Snow Plow attaches to a 2″ front or rear receiver hitch. The push frame for the plow just hooks up like a ball mount. Note the receiver hitch does needs to be from 9″ to 16″ off the ground for ideal operation.  Snowsport HD plows can be ordered with or without a front hitch.

Is a front or rear 2″ receiver hitch needed? Yes.  For the plow to attach to your vehicle, it needs to have a front or rear 2″ hitch.  Generally any brand of 2″ front hitch or rear hitch will work.  The exception is if you have a Jeep or Ford SuperDuty F250.  The SnowSport brand front hitch is required these applications).  Almost any 2″ receiver hitch will work provided it is between 9″ to 16″ off of the ground.

How difficult is it to install the receiver hitch? The front mount receiver hitches are designed to bolt in place on most models.  Some models my require drilling. The front receiver hitch is mounted to the vehicle and the push frame is attached with a hitch pin to recevier hitch. The plow then is attached to the push frame.

How easy is the SnowSport Plow to attach and remove between uses?  It is very simple.  The SnowSport blade hangs on the push frame and the push frame attached with a hitch pin.  Just remove the blade, then unattatch the push frame.  Most SnowSport plow users will leave the push frame attached all winter and just hang the blade whenever they need to plow.

How do you transport the snowplow? The snowplow user just manually lowers it for plowing.  To transport, just simply lift the blade, one side at a time, onto the push frame.  Some SnowSport owners will leave the blade in the transport position on the push frame all winter long except when plowing snow.

How does the SnowSport Plow operate without hydraulics or electrical parts? The blade is secured by the push frame. As you push the snow, the blade travels up and down as needed by gravity pushing the snow with the rubber cutting edge and aluminum blade. The rubber cutting edge is designed to cut through the snow but pass over the harder ground surfaces below and be gentle on grass. When you back up, the blade automatically lays back, skimming over the surface. Then you drive forward and the blade re-engages for plowing.

Why does SnowSport have a rubber cutting edge and box ends?  The heavy duty rubber moves the snow with ease, yet it is turf friendly and won’t wreck your yard or parking lot.  The rubber cutting edge is 1″ thick 6″ high.  It is made of a hard rubber compound. This has been tested and proven to provide years of service.

What is the SnowSport snowplow HD warranty? The plow has a 3-year manufacturers limited warranty.

Can the SnowSport snow plow HD be used on more than one pickup or SUV? Yes, the Snowsport snow plow can be easily transfered to another vehicle, provided the other pickup truck or suv has a front or rear receiver hitch installed.

What pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles will the SnowSport HD work with? The Snowsport Plow will work on virtually any compact, midsize or full size SUV or Pickup. How much does the SnowSport HD plow weigh?  The SnowSport HD blade is made of anodized aluminum and the 7′ blades weight about 100 lbs and the 8′ blades about 110lbs.  The Snow Sport Push Frame is about 65lbs and the Interceptor is about 35lbs.

How is the Snow Sport Snow Plow shipped? SnowSport HD is shipped via UPS/ Fed Ex in 2 boxes. It can also Truck Freight.  It you order the SnowSport HD plow with the front hitch, then it comes in 3 boxes.   The blade is in one box, the push frame & angle is in one box and the receiver hitch is in another box.

How fast does the SnowSport HD plow ship?   Super fast.  If we receive your order by Noon, central standard time, it will ship out the same day.  Ship transit times very by location, but arrival is generally 3-5 days via UPS Ground.
